Roulette is a very popular and widespread guessing game, which originated in 1500s in France and then spread in the Europe and later throughout the world. The term itself signifies "little wheel". The gadget of this game is ascribed to French mathematician B. Pascal with his probability theory.

The game itself is easy and don't need any mental efforts. All is needed to play the game is a spinning wheel and small white ball. The croupier spins the ball in one direction and the wheel in spun in other direction. If you put your wager on the right color, number or set, you win, otherwise you lose. Roulette Bets

  • Inside bets are made on peculiar numbers - 1, 15, 24, etc. and 0.
  • Outside bets can be odd and even; high and low; red and black.

Bets may be matched, mixed and made in any amount during one spin. It is very easy to make this out very quickly.

Payoff for Roulette Bets

1:1 (Even Money) - Red/Black, Even/Odd, Low (1-18)/High (19-36) bets

2:1 - Dozen (1st, 2nd and 3rd 12) and Column (1st, 2nd and 3rd column) bets

5:1 - Line Bet (set of six figures)

6:1 - Line Bet (set of five figures) (8% of roulette house edge)

8:1 - Square/Corner Bet (set of four figures)

11:1 - Street Bet (set of three figures)

17:1 - Split Bet (set of two figures)

35:1 - Straight Bet (one number).

Betting Chips

Each roulette table has its collection of "wheel chips". They are of different colors to distinguish each player's chips. One more special feature of betting system is that bets can be put on each other. It is allowed to place many bets on one number.

Table Minimums

The amount of minimum bet is signed on the table. Their amount works differently if players make inside or outside bets. Outside bets must be equal to table minimum, and the inside ones may be as small as you wish.

Some Roulette Recommendations

  1. The casino receives all bets except that placed on 0 and 00 compartments, when a ball spins there.
  2. Prefer playing 0-wheels, as the house advantage there is smaller, than in two-zero wheel.
  3. It is strongly recommended to avoid 5-number bet, containing 0, 00, 1, 2, 3 in one of the roulette variations, which is called American Roulette.
  4. Remember! The wheels have no memory.
